A switch was not properly lined just before a diamond, and the locomotive engineer failed to notice it. A steamer and string of cars were damaged, as well as the front end of this diesel. Nobody was hurt owing to the steam engine driver lifting his foot out of the way just before the footpeg was torn off by the diesel.
