The Official SpaceShipOne 2005 calendar is an oversized (11
X 32 unfurled) collector's calendar with art you can cut out
and frame after the year is over. The 'stars and stripes'
design and mission profiles in the month pages are based on
the original vinyl artwork on SpaceShipOne / White Knight by
Dan Kreigh. Dan also designed the official SpaceShipOne Logo.
The cover features a composite of two of my photos, that of
SS1 landing and SS1 rocketing off into space. I used a
derivative of this collage and title design for the Mojave Spaceport
and Mojave Town billboards. I used my own photographs
in May, June and October. Contributing photographers were
Dave Moore, Corey Bird and SpaceShipOne pilot Brian Binnie for
his picture of Mojave from space in December.
This calendar is a succesful example of for-profit and non-profit
businesses working together to raise money for charity.
Tonya Rutan's Rocketboosters organization not only benefitted
the charities it donated 100% of it's retail proceeds to, but
it also benefitted all of the local businesses from which raw
merchandise was wholesaled.
This calendar had an offset lithography run of 5,000 pieces,
saddle stiched.
